NATURE OF THE WORK
The Educational Consultant will advise senior officials in the educational services, teachers and other professionals in matters concerning the implementation, development and evaluation of of specific curriculum programs, the appropriate academic organization and the use of high-leverage teaching practices, techniques, equipment, teaching material, etc. to support student learning.
In conformity with the policy established by the board, the Educational Consultant sees to the introduction of both experimental and new developments; provides information on new requirements brought about by change and encourages a continuous process of collaborative, interdependent practices within the milieu. The main role of this consultant is to provide instructional coaching and professional development to teachers, administrators and professionals in relation to the implementation of high-leverage teaching approaches in the classroom. The consultant may be called to observe or model lessons in the classroom and will analyze/interpret data collected to make recommendations to the Director of Pedagogical Services. In addition, s/he may provide advice on questions concerning the professional improvement programs for teaching staff, plan for the programs and assess the results, as well as develop evidence-based resources and materials to support teachers.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the members of the Educational Services team, as well as partner organizations and the Ministry, and will be required to address and take into account language, literacy and numeracy across the curriculum. Specific pedagogical dossiers will be assigned, that could include the preschool program, early intervention and transitions, pedagogical coaching and mentoring of teachers and administrators.

preparing and delivering training and information workshops on components of the program for integrating technology ad collaborates with school resources, partner organizations and the Ministry.
contributing to the development and application of ETSB policies and develops department objectives based on ETSB’s Commitment to Success Plan.
representing the school board in relevant MEQ and regional meetings and participate in school board meetings such as: Pedagogical Services, Principals’ Tables (when necessary), Educational Services Advisory Committee (when necessary) and inter-board committees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in the appropriate specialty, namely education;
Permanent Quebec teaching license;
Recognized as an effective leader;
Knowledge of Quebec Education Program, Progression of Learning and Frameworks for the Evaluation of Learning;
Excellent skills in both oral and written French and English.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
Knowledge of technology, its integration for pedagogical purposes, and various learning management systems/distance education platforms (GOOGLE Workspace, TEAMS, Zoom, etc,).
