 Full-Time Regular (35 hours)
Salary Scale:
$24.99 to $27.95 hourly rate

NATURE OF WORK
As Data Processing Operator (Class I), your primary responsibility will consist of assisting computer users and, particularly, resolving hardware or software-related problems as well as installing and configuring computer equipment and software according to standard procedures. In addition, you will be required to:
• Configure computers and peripheral equipment;
• Connect computers and equipment and ensure their compatibility;
• Install, replace and configure computer parts; • Clean, maintain and carry out minor repairs on the equipment;
• Install, configure and upgrade software and in-house programs according to standard procedures;
• Take necessary precautions to migrate programs and hardware from one computer to another without loss of data;
• Troubleshoot problems in a timely fashion;
• Test, modify and upgrade computers;
• Provide users with technical assistance, including pertinent information;
• Make service calls to repair equipment and software, or refer users to qualified personnel;
• Keep and update a physical inventory of equipment;
• Train less experienced operators, class I;
• Perform any other related duty if needed.
 
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Computing Support or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority;
  • Two (2) years of pertinent experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English, spoken and written;
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows 10, Servers 2012R2/2016/2019, Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, GPO;
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and vehicle, as travel to all Sir Wilfrid Laurier Schools and Centres is required.
