nATURE OF THE WORK
The administration officer encompasses, in particular, participation in the preparation, update and application of administrative policies, procedures and processes of one or several administrative units of the school board; it also encompasses the supervision and coordination of the work of support staff associated with their sector of activity and the study and analysis of various files in order to make and follow up recommendations. In addition, you will be required to;
- Develop, draft, plan, oversee and update the administrative regulations, directives, procedures and processes related to the implementation of activities related to the management of one or several administrative units.
- Collaborate in the development, implementation and update of computer programs and systems related to your field of activity.
- Recommend the standards and procedures appropriate to the needs identified and evaluate the results.
- Participate in developing the tools required to prepare and administer the budget and applies them; ensure that the budget is monitored and that each unit complies with the administrative standards in effect.
- Analyze revenue and expenditure items and reports thereon, collect and analyze budgetary requests and participate in determining budgetary estimates.
- Oversee daily maintenance and repair of building (regular building checks, GRDS, liaison with MR).
- Ensure health and safety of occupants and visitors (temperature, equipment, parking, security, cleanliness).
- Control security and fire prevention.
- Coordinate installations and renovations in conjunction with SWLSB and external contractors.
- Resolve building issues and complaints.
- Manage inventory and upkeep of equipment and supplies.
- Oversee rentals (City and private).
- Coordinate the scheduling and management of support staff and caretakers.
- Additional related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty, notably in administration
- Ability to work independently and take initiative as required
- Experience in planning and evaluation of programs, managing budgets, supervision of staff and volunteers
- Ability to handle stress and organization skills
- Available to work early morning, evening or weekend
