Teaching Position:

English & Math Tutor

Lord Aylmer School is currently looking for tutors in English and Mathematics for 25 hours per week. The purpose of the tutorials is to increase academic success by providing extra support and to fill gaps in learning. Tutors will be paid at the standard teacher hourly rate (Teacher-by-the lesson) which ranges from $57.62 to $75.50.

Hours: 25 hours per week

Location: Lord Aylmer School

Pay rate: Standard hourly pay rate for teachers

Duration: as soon as possible to June 2022

The Act respecting the laicity of the State (hereinafter the Act) has created an obligation for certain public organizations, including school boards, to ensure that religious symbols are not worn by specific employees while exercising their functions. The Act specifies that it is incumbent upon the Director General to take the necessary measures to ensure compliance with this new obligation.

The purpose of this Directive is to present the main obligations stemming from the Act and to guide

management personnel in the implementation of any required measure, while respecting, as much as

possible, the values of inclusion, integrity and respect as espoused by the Western Québec School Board.

The Act respecting the laicity of the State

Prohibition regarding the wearing of religious symbols

Principals, vice principals, centre directors, assistant centre directors, and teachers are prohibited from wearing religious symbols in the exercise of their functions.
