Elementary Teacher

Do you have the desire to immerse yourself in an Indigenous community and to celebrate cultural differences? The Central Québec School Board (CQSB) may have what you are looking for! With close to 300 students, Jimmy Sandy Memorial School (JSMS) is currently seeking teachers who are interested in sharing their creativity, experience, and passion for learning with the Naskapis of Kawawachikamach.

Kawawa, as it is locally called, is a dynamic community of approximately 1,000 people. There is a grocery store, municipal pool, fitness center, a cultural centre, a greenhouse, a local radio station, a health care clinic to name a few. Depending on the season, outdoor activities in particular are always popular with JSMS staff. The options are limitless, from snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, berry picking, snowmobiling and so much more.
