Master Coach – Supernumerary 25%

Various Locations- school based positions

Nature of the Work

The principal work of the Master Coach is to lead a network of coaches working in the Teacher Induction Program (TIP). Working closely with the Coordinator of Induction and Professional Learning Programs, as well as the TIP team, successful candidates will support best practices in mentoring and coaching through school visits, meetings and coaching conversations.

Characteristic Functions

With the support of the TIP team:

Development of the WQSB Master Coaches’ roles and responsibilities

Record keeping of meetings, goal progress and other data related to network focuses.

Participation in professional learning to support the development of professional coaching skills.

Participation in professional learning related to the development of the thirteen Professional Teaching Competencies.

Participation in professional learning to support leadership development.

Sustained support to a regional network of Mentor-Coaches including group and one-on-one meetings (in person and virtual) to support the development of coaching skills through on-going goal setting and reflection.

Required Qualifications

Five years of teaching experience with the Western Quebec School Board

Three years of experience as a Mentor-Coach with the Western Quebec School Board’s Teacher Induction Program

Support and endorsement of School Administrator
