Tasks and responsibilities |
- Teaching job readiness, professional development, and essential soft skills.
- Could also include developing curriculum, providing hands-on training, and fostering an encouraging environment
- Provide instruction on career development topics including CV’s, portfolios, job searching, interview techniques, and workplace communication in both English and French
- Create engaging lesson plans and materials that meet the diverse needs of students. Regularly assess and revise content to ensure it aligns with current job market trends.
- Évaluer et réviser régulièrement le contenu pour s’assurer qu’il s’aligner sur les tendances actuelles du marché du travail.
- Offer one-on-one coaching to students, helping them identify their strengths, how to overcome challenges, and develop achievable employment SMART goals.
- Develop good current real work-related situations
- Travel to different work businesses to meet with employers, supervisors, and have 1-on-1 visits with students to help them to discuss areas that may need improvement
- Collaborer avec les employeurs et les partenaires communautaires
- Collaborate with employers and community partners
- Assist students with job placement opportunities and internships.
- Serve as a mentor to students, providing encouragement and motivation as they develop the confidence and skills necessary to enter the workforce.
Could be required to work evenings and /or weekends.

- Bilingual, French and English (written and spoken)
- Ability to communicate in Spanish would be considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

- Experience in businesses, employment integration and maintenance

Required qualifications
|
Schooling
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid Quebec teaching authorization: teaching certificate (brevet d’enseignement), a teaching permit, or a provisional authorization.
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching program at a Quebec university (proof of enrolment will be required);
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the subject to be taught combined with relevant experience working with young people or adults.
For diplomas obtained abroad, the comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Quebec issued by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration attesting that you have a bachelor’s degree is required.
Other
- Minimum of 5 years teaching or mentoring experience,
- Experience in workforce development or employment readiness programs would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of career development tools, including resume building, job search strategies, and interviewing techniques
- Experience working with adults and/or immigrants
