SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION TECHNICIAN

Position Description

This Temporary Regular Position with Possibility of Permanency – 35 Hours per Week working with the Financial Resources and School Transportation Services, located at 7525 Chemin de Chambly, Saint Hubert, QC.

NATURE OF THE WORK

The primary role of the employee in this job class is to assist transportation managers by performing technical duties such as developing bus routes, scheduling, preparing contracts and regulations, and ensuring compliance with transportation policies.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Planning school bus and sedan routes
  • Handling and following up on complaints
  • Coordinating transportation operations
  • Providing customer service to users and the public
  • Updating the geographic database

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) in Transportation Logistics or an equivalent diploma/certificate recognized by the appropriate authority
  • Basic proficiency in word processing software
  • Basic proficiency in spreadsheet software
  • Bilingual in English and French

The school board reserves the right to assess candidates' knowledge through testing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Strong stress management skills required
  • Must adopt a positive and effective customer service approach
  • A valid driver’s license is required at all times for this position
  • The employee must be available during peak activity periods in the transportation sector

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Lunch break: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
