Nature of the work 

 

The role of the assistant director of a vocational training centre consists of assisting the director of a vocational training centre, according to the mandate defined by the latter, in the pedagogical, educational and administrative management of the centre.

 

Description of tasks

 

  • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the centre's orientations and action plan. 
  •  Develop or collaborate in the formulation of proposals on subjects such as the terms of application of the pedagogical regime, the programs of study, the methods of organizing training, special training projects, the choice of textbooks and teaching materials, the application of admission criteria and rules for moving from one module to another, the rules of life and customer services.  
  • Coordinate, supervise or collaborate in the implementation of activities, programs or services in various sectors of activity of the center such as human, material or financial resources, information and communication technologies, reception and referral services, business services and liaison with employment or employability development organizations. 
  • Assume any other responsibilities compatible with his/her function entrusted to him/her by his/her immediate supervisor.
  •  Replace the director of the vocational training centre in the event of the latter's brief absence.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in education or an undergraduate university degree in an appropriate field of study attesting to a university program of at least 3 years' duration or hold a senior or managerial position, whose minimum qualifications require holding an undergraduate university degree, in a school service centre or school board. 
  • Five years of relevant experience 
  • Permanent teaching authorization issued by the Ministry
