School Organization Technician – Lakeside Academy/Horizon/Angrignon

Position Description

SCHOOL ORGANIZATION TECHNICIAN

Lakeside Academy: 21 hours per week

Horizon High School : 14 hours per week

Principals: Maggie Wilkinson, Benjamin Matlin 

Qualifications:

Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Business Administration (Management) or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Access, Excel and Word) and Google software

    • Testing required

  • Knowledge of school fee structure

  • Knowledge of Jade Tosca, Access, DASH, GPI, Charlemagne, DOFIN, Mozaik and Fusion would be an asset

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to set a timeline and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Bilingualism

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Willingness to work during part of the summer period (in July and August)

  • Ability to be a self-starter and to work independently

  • Knowledge of Secondary school structure with regards to graduation requirements and promotion policies and asset

Nature of the work:

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in preparing, in conjunction with the administration, the school or centre timetable and other schedules, such as the exam schedule based on, among other things, rationalization and efficiency criteria as well as adapting and applying the procedures required for the organization of administrative operations: student registration, declaration of student enrolment, exams, preparation of report cards and certification of studies.

Daily Tasks/Dossiers:

  • Responsible for Lakeside and Horizon and its satellite programs

  • Preparation of documents during staffing period for the next school year:

    • Class groupings during registration time
    • Maintain and update school fees information
    • Student registration (incl. International students)
    • Adjustments and updates monthly to homeroom classes
    • Teacher Timetables/workloads including supervision
    • Teacher Compensation
  • Student Timetable/Course Changes

  • Monthly course section review

  • Preparation of Option form

  • Preparation of course selection handbook

  • Interim Reports/Report Cards/Exams/IEP

  • Adjustments to marks/comments

  • Regular communication with Resource Teacher recording updates of identified students with      codes

  • Prepare forms for IEP day

  • Registration of students for supplemental exams

  • Transmission of exam result Jan and June

  • Prepare promotion meeting reports
