NATURE OF THE WORK

The position of analyst encompasses, in particular, responsibility for the analysis, development, coordination and control of systems, methods, procedures and programs pertaining, among others, to administrative organization and operations, communication structures, data processing by computer or by other means and the rational use of school board resources.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

• The analyst evaluates the needs of one or more fields of activity of the school board, gathers information from users and identifies potential problem areas; he or she devises, develops and recommends possible solutions to the problems identified. He or she coordinates and ensures the implementation and update of programs; he or she ensures that deadlines are respected and proposes the required corrective measures; he or she organizes and conducts training and professional development sessions intended for the staff concerned, and ensures evaluation and follow-up.

• He or she conducts the necessary analyses to meet the organization’s informational needs; presents statistics and prepares documents or reports, and oversees the use and updating of the school board’s databases.

• He or she participates in the development and application of the standards and procedures pertaining to his or her sector of activity and ensures compliance; he or she may be called upon to conduct research or to provide advice on the application of collective agreements, laws, regulations and administrative rules.

The analyst’s main responsibilities are as follows:

Participates in the resolution of service requests related to incidents and problems;

Installs, configures, maintains, updates and provides support for all GRICS applications used by the school board;

Installs, configures, maintains and updates various servers and other software applications;

Works with colleagues at all levels in assisting with the implementation of the school board’s “Plan Directeur en Ressources Informationnelles” (PDRI) and any related projects or initiatives;

Assists in the continual monitoring and improvement of Information Technology Security;

Actively participates in the design and automation of business solutions in the context of system implementation and maintenance;

Develops and programs computer systems: collects, collates, evaluates and analyzes data for a problem or project while learning about existing computer systems;

Develops and validates strategies for innovation and implementation of new solutions;

Works in close collaboration with the other members of the Information Technology Department as well as colleagues in other school boards;

Model and simplify complex data to facilitate decision-making with managers and/or management using PowerBI or otherwise.

Explore data to identify trends and innovative ideas to optimize the use of different databases

Organize and facilitate training and development sessions

LA NATURE DU TRAVAIL

Il ou elle coordonne et assure la mise en œuvre et la mise à jour des programmes; il ou elle veille au respect des délais et propose les mesures correctives requises ; il ou elle organise et anime des sessions de formation et de perfectionnement destinées au personnel concerné et en assure l’évaluation et le suivi.

Il ou elle effectue les analyses nécessaires pour répondre aux besoins de l’organisation en matière d’information ; il ou elle présente des statistiques et prépare des documents ou des rapports ; il ou elle voit à l’utilisation et à la mise à jour des bases de données de la commission scolaire.

Il ou elle participe à l’élaboration et à l’application des normes et procédures relatives à son secteur d’activité et en assure le respect ; il ou elle peut être appelée à effectuer des recherches ou à donner des conseils sur l’application des conventions collectives, des lois, des règlements et des règles administratives.

Les principales responsabilités de l’analyste sont les suivantes :

Participer à la résolution des demandes de service relatives aux incidents et aux problèmes ;

Installer, configurer, maintenir et mettre à jour divers serveurs et autres applications logicielles ;

Travailler avec des collègues de tous les niveaux pour aider à la mise en œuvre du Plan directeur en ressources informationnelles (PDRI) de la commission scolaire et de tout projet ou initiative connexe ;

Contribuer à la surveillance et à l’amélioration continue de la sécurité des technologies de l’information ;

Participer activement à la conception et à l’automatisation des solutions d’affaires dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre et de la maintenance des systèmes ;

Développer et programmer des systèmes informatiques : recueillir, rassembler, évaluer et analyser des données pour un problème ou un projet tout en se renseignant sur les systèmes informatiques existants ;

Élaborer et valider des stratégies d’innovation et de mise en œuvre de nouvelles solutions ;

Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les autres membres du Service des technologies de l’information ainsi qu’avec ses collègues des autres commissions scolaires ;

Modéliser et simplifier des données complexes pour faciliter la prise de décision avec les gestionnaires et/ou la direction en utilisant PowerBI ou autre.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor’s degree in Education or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study;

? A graduate university degree with a minimum of 30 credits in school leadership or administration. Candidates enrolled in such a program will be considered if they have completed a minimum of 6 credits;

? Eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferably in both a primary and secondary school setting, including (5) five years teaching experience;

? A permanent teaching licence as issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation et Enseignement Supérieur. Candidates who hold a valid teaching license in another province will be considered;

? Bilingualism solid competence in oral and written communications
